Welcome to the Serendipity House! If you want a cozy family lake community home near the best outdoor activities, this is it!

Serendipity House offers comfortable living for families of all ages. The easy layout of a well-equipped kitchen (everyone loves the turquoise fridge), three generous bedrooms - a king, a queen, and a twin with trundle - good-sized bathrooms, and a spacious patio make this the ideal location for your next stay.

Nearby Highland Lake provides plenty of fun and activities. The 203-acre lake is stocked annually with fish (bass, perch, pickerel, and crappie). The water is perfect for kayaking and canoeing (ask us about kayak rentals), and there's a boat ramp for those who want to cruise. To relax, The Sand Beach is a great local spot on the water for drinks, BBQ, and music.

Being minutes from the mighty Delaware River and the Rio Reservoir will give fishermen the waters of their dreams (American shad, trout, eel, perch, and pumpkinseed in the Delaware and bass, perch, crappie, walleye, and pickerel in the Rio). Hikers and ramblers will enjoy the many exceptional trails, especially the much-loved Mongaup Trail, which children can easily do. And for the birders and amateur ornithologists, the skies above will hold eagles, hawks/ospreys, doves, herons, warblers, and all manner of waterfowl, including the speedy loons.

Foodies can easily pop into The Eldred Preserve for its sophisticated bar and gourmet restaurant. Driving five minutes south to Barryville gets you delicious local fare, or 15 minutes west to Narrowsburg to one of the town's top-notch restaurants.

Like all Upstate Place properties, this home has a pack n' play, highchair, baby bath, etc., available to make the smallest guest's stay welcoming and accessible. Children will love the area's bountiful nature, the famed Circle Park to the north, and The Kartrite Indoor Water Park, just 25 minutes away.

The Serendipity House would ideally suit couples, a young family, or a family vacationing with seniors or those who don't wish to use too many stairs.

PLEASE NOTE:
Like any rural environment, this house is surrounded by countryside, farms, and wildlife. While it's lovely to observe the eagles, deer, bears, and adorable chipmunks, it can also mean you will hear coyotes and foxes at night and encounter the less cute mice, flies, snakes, ants, and bees. There is very little to be done about it, but by keeping doors closed or screened and food in its appropriate storage, unwelcome guests will stay outside where they belong.
