Getting male bobolinks around colorful wildflowers is difficult because they tend to stay in tall grass where they are hidden from predators. I was thrilled when this male landed near these native prairie wildflowers.

Restuarant crews were fantastic; hotel location, unbeatable if overnight and early morning flight from ORd as in airport. Rooms smallish, dated but functional. $25 early check in petty, cheapened experience and bothered me.

It’s a lovely, comfortable, clean and well-appointed spot in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts communicated well and responded quickly and kindly when we had questions/needs. Very simple check-in and -out procedures. Parking was easy too. Will hopefully stay there again!
