“My husband stayed at Deangate Motel due to working locally. The motel was clean staff helpful in that they let him keep the same room when he extended his stay due to not finishing his work on time. The room he was in he could see his work van clearly and the carpark was super safe as it joined the police station carpark so gave him peace of mind .will stay again as a couple so we can explore the area locally which is walking distance to Lydney. Beautiful countryside for walking.”

“The place is very dated, could do with a little TLC. There is no lift to the upper rooms, had it stated this on the website, I would not have booked. Having mobility problems, but not enough to have an accessable room, it was difficult with the stairs and luggage, however the receptionist did offer help. “The venue is currently set up for youth residential events so it doesn't have hotel facilities. Our room was modern and clean with comfortable beds and a good bathroom, but it would have benefited from a few extra amenities. Still, the staff were friendly and welcoming, we absolutely loved the estate and we look forward to visiting again soon. It's a great place for families who enjoy outdoor activities. “Constant noise and heavy fire doors banging until midnight, got woken up by people in the hallway leaving at 6am. The room had a green fire exit light that couldn’t turn off so the room was always lit up even with the other lights off. The lamp in the room was broken. Absolutely no soundproofing anywhere. Plenty of free parking though. Breakfast was included but not a great standard. Bathroom had paint peeling off the windowsills and the shower was slow to drain. There were shower amenities……

“This was a third stay. Good hotel, within reasonable walking distance of Ross-on-Wye & well situated for exploring the surrounding countryside & towns. Great to have on-site parking. Owners are friendly & helpful. Appreciate being able to book a single room.Clearly marked emergency exits. Both rooms previously stayed in were up steep, narrow stairs. Didn't find these a problem, but vsitors with mobility difficulties would be advised to check accessibility with the owners before booking.”
