"This lodging was just perfect and Mary Ellen was the best host ever! We arrived around midnight after a lengthy delay on the ferry from Santorini to find a bottle of red wine, home baked pastries and excellent check-in instructions. Mary Ellen stopped by the next morning to greet us with fresh baked pastries from her favorite bakery and lots of helpful information about Crete. We can’t say enough about our stay there and highly recommend this lodging!"

"We stayed at Portou House for 5 nights and had an excellent time. Very good location in Chania Old Town. Communication was great from start to finish with Julia being very responsive. We were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine for my Partner’s birthday which was a nice touch. The only feedback we would have is that there was no full length mirror - think it would be good to consider including in the rooms. Many thanks Julia and team at Portou House. "

"Excellent time staying at these apartments! A quiet, lovely beach is right outside the property which was perfect for us. The gardens and the property as a whole is very well kept. Konstantinos was great, answered all our questions and the check-in/check-out was very easy. WiFi was a bit patchy sometimes, but no issues after restarting the router. "The apartments are beautiful, tasteful and spacious. Giota was a wonderful host with such a good energy. She was helpful and checked in on us to ensure all was well. "Spent 4 nights at the apartments. We stayed in July so were aware of the property. There were only us and another friendly couple staying here as it was getting to the end of the season. The rooms weren't cleaned during this time or fresh sheets and the bins weren't emptied. We disposed of the bathroom bin contents. We are aware there's no cleaner over the weekend, so maybe be provided with more bin bags and a bin to dispose of them in. We'd still happily stay here again."

"A great hotel if you either have a car or need to be by the airport. It is about 25 minutes from the old city, but not a terrible drive. The staff were extremely friendly. We had an issue with the drain being clogged when we arrived but they had someone there to fix it within 5 minutes. The breakfast was fairly good and there was a lot of parking. "
