“The hotel is well situated and offers a convenient base for the local area. I would also like to commend the night staff, who were exceptionally professional, understanding, and accommodating throughout our stay.
However, our experience in Room 11 was deeply unsettling. During the night, my partner was abruptly woken and believed she had been physically touched, which caused her considerable distress. When we raised this with staff, we were informed that similar reports had been made……

“This is a beautiful hotel in all aspects! The breakfast was the nicest hotel I have had in a long while and I travel alot!!
Perfectly situated for the coast, we visited Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and whitby; and for York and Harrogate.
Would definately stay here again if we find ourselves in that part of the country again!!”

“Very central and lovely old hotel. A little tired in places but great staff. Disappointed that they only had the choice of one type of red wine which wasn’t great! They don’t service the rooms but you can get additional toilet roll and tea and coffee etc easily. Entertainment was good but only saw one night as problems with the equipment.
So many gulls that my car was covered when parking outside. Value for money”

We had the private dining room, which for a larger party I really can recommend. Though we were not required to we pre-ordered which made the whole evening seamless.
Probably just me but there were 6 different light switches in the room. Finding the right combination for bathroom, ceiling and bedside trial and error.
