They were totally oblivious to the fact that three 70 year old ladies might need help with their luggage when we arrived. Somehow we got it to our rooms. I went down and got a luggage rack when we were leaving. They still didn't notice until I brought it back down filled with luggage and then finally someone offered to help.

We had a great five night stay here. Friendly and helpful staff. Good and quiet (but not empty) lounge. Good room. Clean, nice amenities, etc. Would definitely stay here again. (We happened to stay at the Riu Hotel next door for one night and this was a much better experience. Perhaps it’s a smaller hotel? The Park Plaza didn’t feel like a bustling train station!)

This hotel was very nice and inviting when you entered. It is an eco-friendly hotel which means when you leave for the day, your AC unit is turned off and both of the nights we stayed there also turned off during the night while we were sleeping. Summer in London is extremely warm and I understand why AC units maybe go off during the day to save energy but having to wake up in the middle of the night to turn the AC unit back on was a major inconvenience. Additionally, in the evening time, the hallways smell awful. I asked the front desk as to why it smelled so bad and she told us it was room service of people, eating fish and chips. We went out for the evening and when we had come back, the smell had dissipated We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel the first evening we were there. The food was very good. They have an initiative to raise money for a cause; £1 is automatically added to your bill for this cause. I didn’t feel that that should automatically have been added to my bill and quite frankly, I didn’t appreciate it. But the staff and the restaurant was extremely slow, so I didn’t want to take the time to ask for it off my bill. The staff was slow in the restaurant because I believe the feel was to be the nation and it’s a slower pace of eating & serving. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient to the train and many points of interest such as Buckingham Palace. The walk to Buckingham Palace from the hotel was less than 10 minutes.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to Victoria station, great restaurants around, 10 -15 minutes walking distance from Buckingham palace, 15 minutes walk to the clock tower (Big Ben), 20 minutes to London eye. The hotel itself is great, the room we stayed at was clean, decent size, and we dealt with wonderful staff members. The breakfast at the hotel was also very good. The only thing that I will encourage them to improve is the lighting in the room (need brighter lights).

We had no working phone or TV the first night. They tried to move us into 2 other rooms, neither of which were the standard of our booked room. They moved us the following day and AC wasn’t cooling the room. Probably won’t go back.
