10/10 Exceptional! (15 reviews)
We were excited to give this resort a try, but it's probably not a place we'll return to.
The property itself is beautiful, modern, and definitely feels like a luxury resort you'd expect to find in Vail or Aspen. The rooms were very nice, the onsite restaurants were good, and the live music on Saturday night was a great touch.
That said, there were a few disappointments. Both hot tubs were out of service for all three days of our stay. The pool is quite small, and during our visit it was packed with wedding guests using large tubes, making it difficult for other guests to enjoy. We also couldn't justify paying $79 per night for valet parking, so we parked in the public lot and walked instead.
For us, though, the biggest drawback wasn't any one amenity, it was that the resort felt out of place in River Run. It brings a level of luxury that's more in line with Vail or Aspen, but it doesn't quite deliver the same overall experience those destinations are known for. At the same time, it changes the relaxed, laid-back mountain atmosphere that has always made Keystone and River Run appealing to our family.
It's undoubtedly a beautiful hotel, but we personally prefer the more affordable condos and lodging options in River Run, which better capture the authentic Keystone vibe we've enjoyed over the years
