I'm SO sad to write this review. Under Canvas had been on my bucket list for a really long time! Needless to say, the experience ended up being less than desirable and the disappointment was only exacerbated by their managements "response" or lack there of.
I admit, I did not check reviews for the Moab property. I trusted that it will be as luxurious as they make it seem online. By not checking reviews, I unfortunately missed all of the people commenting on the road noise situation. I won't dwell on this, but let me tell you... its as bad, if not worse, than what the reviews say. In my opinion, my initial tent may as well have been pitched under a freeway overpass, the noise was so bad.
My second tent was slightly quieter, as it was slightly more set back from the freeway, however I was woken up in the middle of the night by a screaming alarm. First at 1am, then again around 3am a screaming alarm sounded two times. Absolutely terrified, I checked to see if the tent was on fire. It turns out, it was the batteries in the water-heater, which were removed at 3:15am by an associate. The next morning I had no hot water to get ready for my day.
Perhaps this was just a fluke, but I expect not since overall I found the resort to be in a mild form of disrepair. The tents were dirty and ripped with broken zippers and of course, the dead battery on the water heater. There are a lot of really wonderful properties in Moab.... when I return I will be choosing a different one.
