Beautiful classic hotel (it's even on the National Register of Historic Places!) a few minutes from the beach. The room had a nice gas fireplace which we enjoyed. The staff is pleasant and the breakfast, though limited in terms of variety, was delicious the two days we were there (yogurt parfaits, scones and coffee). The sleeping accommodations for parties of more than 2 people are limited though, even though we stayed in a cottage and paid for two additional guests (our two daughters). There was only a small sofa-bed in our cottage that was barely big enough for both our daughters - usually our daughters are very comfortable with the sofa bed arrangement, but not in this case.
The location is excellent though, walking distance to the beach and to a number of restaurants, and the town of Pacific Grove itself is beautiful and quaint (and much quieter than Monterey), so we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this hotel for parties of three or fewer people.
