Stellar Villa in the HillsPosted May 30, 2017
Pros: Beautiful building, spacious rooms, incredible bathroom (Shower and Massive tub), lovely staff
Cons: It is the nature of all humans to nitpick, i suppose .. only thing i would say would be to have a bit more hot breakfast options.
Location: Mostly a hiking / bike-riding sort of place to go. Siena and Florence are not far away tho, if you don't mind a drive.
Your search for a hotel in Tuscany should end right here. This place is truly phenomenal, from the staff, the location, the facility, etc. We had one of the suites overlooking the pool - every morning we woke up with that magical, sunny view across the hills. Sure, there is not a ton to do around the little village, but if you are looking to relax, this is perfect.

Beautiful location.Posted Nov 2, 2015 on Hotels
Beautiful villa located in the small village of Moncioni, outside of the town of Montevarchi. In the heart of stunning Tuscan countryside, the villa offers a secluded stay, amongst olive groves and vineyards. You will need a car! The village is approximately a 10-15 minute drive from the town of Montevarchi, where although there is a train station and taxi services, having a car will allow you the freedom of exploring this picturesque region. The villa itself is staffed by a wonderful team of friendly and helpful personnel, who will make your stay most enjoyable. The restaurant offers a diverse menu of rustic Italian dishes as well as contemporary faire. You can even take a cooking class with the chef, which is definitely time well spent, before enjoying your efforts for lunch! All in all, a fantastic and relaxing stay.

Good but could be betterPosted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Decor and design of the main building are great and as expected. Lunch was especially good.
Cons: Tea/coffee in the room. Better mattress. Better trained staff. Cooked/varied breakfast option. Towels on sunbeds. More varied dinner menu.
Location: Several vineyards nearby and a couple of good restaurants a short drive away. There is a lively bar in the village which is worth a visit later on.
We had booked a 'Classic' room, not realizing until we arrived that this was in a separate building, not in villa Sassolini. The room decor is not the same as the main house and the mattress was particularly unconformable. This was later resolved and the rooms in the Villa itself are much higher quality. The surrounding, grounds and pool area are all great. The staff were all pleasant but not as professional or well trained as expected for a 'hotel' of this advertised quality. Drinks should be offered rather than always having to ask. Breakfast was ok but the same each day and nothing cooked.

Every Comfort Provided, Great Attention to DetailPosted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Fabulous attention to detail, clean, stylish hotel. Large rooms.
A convenient base for exploring Chianti. A little out of the way if you like some urban life.

Exceptionally good, well managed, well maintainedPosted Jun 20, 2014 on Hotels
All positive.Clean, comfortable, stylish, villa in a small hilltop village.Excellent knowledgable staff who are very attentive to your needs. Great restaurant serving great food and great wine. Head waiter George has been here for 8 years and really knows his stuff. !deal romantic getaway but you will definitely need a car if you wish to venture out. The area is outstandingly beautiful with the Chianti towns all within a i hour drive and well worth a visit. (Grieves in Chianti in particular!)
