“The room was clean. The staff was excellent. I like the location. It diminishes the traffic noise. Nice hiking trail nearby. I love the fact that they are dog friendly. Only a couple of minor issues: The thermostat on the A/C unit did not work. No matter how high I set the temperature, the unit never shut off. No problem. I just turned it on and off manually. The tub could be replaced. It was functional, but it did not look too nice. Not a problem for me, but some guests might not like that.”

“My room wasn’t clean, the vents were filthy and the windows sills were dirty. I normally stop in Effingham every time we traveled to Chicago and this was my first and last time staying in the Holidays Inn.”
