“My family and I really liked "Our Neck of the Woods" cottage. We were returning home from a vacation in Michigan to St Louis and thought I'd be fun to go into Casey, IL to see all the world's biggest attractions before closing the book on vacation 2026. This property is quiet and welcoming. We had dinner at Richard's Farm Restaurant and it was excellent. We also saw a deer 10 yards from the cottage out back and a muskrat in the pdnd below along with other bird wildlife. Thank you for sharing……

“Cabin was private with wooded area all around. There is a cabin across the drive, but you cannot see it from the back patio or hot tub. Cabin was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay! ”

“The location was perfect and the host was more than accommodating. I recommend anyone who wants to stay in a quiet peaceful place and visit the national forest this place is for you. The only recommendation I have is check your email prior to going to the destination for instructions. The area is remote and cell signal is off and on. Once you arrive and access wifi your phone works perfectly.”

“This was our 2nd stay at Calies Cabin. We love it there! So peaceful, quiet and comfortable. The hot tub overlooks a pond with a beautiful view of the tree line and the sunset. We used the fire pit and the grill. We enjoyed seeing the cows next door, some deer, a fox, ducks flying overhead and hearing the bullfrogs. The only downside was the wood bees swarming above the hot tub. We had at least 3 fall in the water with us and one stung my husband. I still recommend this location and will……

“Pretty nice stay overall. Location's clean and quiet. Deer and peacocks around if you like those. Hard to get lost. Only 5 miles off from stores if you need to pick something up. Negatives: I'm short and had a hard time reaching things, so I had to buy a stool (that's a me problem, I realize). The wi-fi never worked so I had to rely on mobile data (TV streamed through satellite so that was fine). Dealt with a lot of spiders and flies. Didn't try the hot tub because two wasps were hanging around……

“Everything was clean and ready for our wknd! Supplies excellent, towels, bedding, etc. Very nice. Very comfy beds.If there is a house # displayed, we couldnt find it. Knew we were in the right place when the code provided opened the front door. Beautiful area!!!”
