“The hotel itself is in great condition and looks well maintained, which makes the experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the service is on the level of a hostel rather than a proper hotel. The staff give the impression that they’re doing you a favor instead of simply doing their job, which makes interactions frustrating. Room service is practically nonexistent. Our room was cleaned, but no fresh shampoo or shower gel was provided. After calling four times with no result, I had to……

“This resort is a sister property to Royal Islander La Plage across the street and you will likely wish you had booked there instead. While La Terrasse has a beautiful pool onsite, a lovely roof garden, and a convenient parking garage, the minimal communication from and availability of staff, coupled with the restrictiveness of the supposedly “shared amenities” of La Plage, was frustrating to navigate. No one explained anything to us at check-in about room cleaning, towel availability or pool or……

“We had a nice stay. The soaps in the shower were watery and the toilet paper was single ply. It was clean and did the job for our one night stay. ”

“The room was clean; however, the air conditioning had a slightly musty smell. Unfortunately, the experience was disrupted when housekeeping knocked on our door before 10:00 a.m. and informed us that checkout time was 10:00 a.m. This was incorrect, as I had confirmed that checkout was at 11:00 a.m. I raised this with the front desk, as guests should not be disturbed before the official checkout time. “We really wanted to leave a good review of Villa du Kapress because the staff were so lovely and overall the villa is really nice, we also had one of our best meals here while we were on St.Maarten. The Villa was also nicely located so we’re weren’t right in the craziness, but a short drive away. But, there were somethings that took away from our experience. We weren’t given any towels in our room for the stay, and the bedding in the rooms was a bit stained. It did feel a bit untidy around the……

“Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was outstanding!!! We had a car rental so the location wasn’t an issue however if you don’t have a car it wouldn’t be as convenient. Would highly recommend if your plan is to travel the island all week like we did. Great stay, clean and delicious breakfasts ”

“Expedia showed gorgeous water views- the room was NOT as described or pictured! In the back with just a very partial view mostly from the bathroom. Amenities were sparse and basic- no paper towels,no blanket, no dryer, etc. Will be contacting Expedia when I return home-did not have option to understand this when booked- ”
