"The front desk was so helpful. Helped us get reservations for dinner. Place was in a great location. Walked everywhere. It was very comfortable and quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was good. Many options. Backyard terrace was lovely with a beautiful view. Room was comfortable and clean. Would return there again. "
"The hotel is in a rural setting just beyond a supermarket. Parking is plentiful. Checking in and out was friendly. Apartment was lovely with lounge/kitchenette area and separate bedroom. Lovely and quiet.
We walked into the town using the walking paths over a busy main road. Quite a long walk, but doable, and easier walking back as downhill! Would recommend hotel and would stay again. "
"Very nice hotel and beautiful hotel. My only complaint is that the king bed I stayed in was very lumpy - I do mean very.. otherwise great place. Good size gym. Clean. Very friendly service."
"The service was really the highlight of our stay. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! Our room was perfect and we really loved the large bathroom and shower. Breakfast was good and the service there was very good as well. A very enjoyable stay!"
"Our stay was great, included breakfast, able to walk up, yes, lots of uphill to the Cathedral. The Campo was a bit further past the Cathedral, easy downhill walk. The host greeted us as planned, our checkin was smooth. Check out was also easy.I had trouble getting a taxi back to the train station, a communication problem. The walk was not too bad, there are escalators and moving walkways."
"This B & B style property was a little gem, albeit with some slight imperfections.
The room was smallish, but sweet, with high ceilings and a solid shower. The little foyer at the room entry was nice. It all felt comfortably cozy. Only real downside was the lack of bathroom counter space and room space overall. If you like cozy, you’ll enjoy it. If you need a large room, this isn’t the place for you.
For amenities: the daily breakfast spread was nice. The property grounds were lovely, with a nice little courtyard that received good sunshine.
For location, it’s just a little bit outside of the heart of the city so it was a bit quieter, and you needed to walk about 10 minutes to get “into town”. I liked that, but others may feel differently depending on your preferences (if you need to be closer to the heart of the action).
Service was solid, but not A+. When we needed a taxi or some information we got it promptly. So no real complaints. The only thing missing is there wasn’t that level of engagement or friendliness you’d hope to have. It was just solid. Perhaps that’s a cultural thing. But that’s something I appreciate. No one was rude or anything like that, but absent one of the ladies who ran the breakfast/coffee station, that level of warm engaged service was lacking.
Cost was outstanding, very reasonable!
Overall this was a nice, enjoyable property and I’d recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay in Siena + doesn’t mind being a bit outside city center. "
Looming over the city, this fortress is a symbol of when Siena’s independence ended in the 16th century. Today, it’s a public space for exercise and entertainment.
