The furniture had been removed from the room, or at least everything except for a bed and a desk. The couch and seating areas were removed, and there were no glasses in the room. The front desk told me that they’ve removed all the extra furniture permanently and all the rooms. Prostitutes were hanging out in the parking lot.

The staff was absolutely fantastic! The check-in process was a bit nerve-wracking at first due to the hotel being overbooked, despite us having paid well in advance. However, we were eventually given our room and even received vouchers for breakfast. I must say, the staff truly went above and beyond.

I booked and paid via Expedia for a twin queen bed room. At the check in, they told me it was sold out which is not really acceptable--if you confirmed my booking and charged me, why you sell also to other people? However I did not say anything but asked their plan. The lady at reception said she can give me a king bed room with an additional small bed to be set up. I said it is not a problem, as long as the bed has all bedding. She said it certainly has and then she phoned the housekeeping division to do this. After I arrived room for at least 20 minutes, one guy pushed a small bed with mattress on it into the room, left it just 5 feet from the door and wanted to leave. I stopped him and let him to put it down at right location (it was a vertically standing bed). He was very unwilling but did it at my continued request. Then I requested the same bedding (duvet, pillows). He was unwilling and asked me to go together with him to the reception--he said if you booked a double queen bed room, then you need to let them to switch to the room. I refused to go, said we just checked in and they sold out all double queen bed. Eventually he found what I needed for me. A bad experience, I indeed hope they could make the bed for me but have to do my own. Then in the next morning (today) when I checked out, the reception (a different lady) was also not welcome, almost did not want to talk, pointed to the key drop box and even did not want to listen to me that I wanted to check out.

The only good thing about this property is that it’s close to the airport, but other than that, it doesn’t have good restaurants around it, the restaurant from the property it’s ok. It does have transportation that takes you to the airport for free and it’s a non stop it works every day all day every half hour.

I recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza Newark conveniently located near the airport. The proximity to the airport made it an ideal choice for my layover, and the complimentary shuttle service was a great bonus. The rooms are dated but served a comfortable stay. I even got a quick workout in their fitness facility The staff were friendly and helpful. Despite its location, the hotel was quiet, allowing for a restful night's sleep. I highly recommend the Crowne Plaza Newark for anyone needing accommodation close to the airport.

My overall stay was fine. The front desk staff were helpful and very pleasant. However, the king room I was moved to had a bit of a urine smell the first night. Once I cleaned, wiped down, and sprayed as I do all of my temporary rooms. The smell went away. Possibly a good rug cleaning would help any future issues.

Convenient hotel for a short stay, close to the airport with good shuttle service. Room was clean with basic amenities. Person at the restaurant could have been courteous about need for breakfast vouchers, he sounded rude.
