I have stayed at numerous Shilo Hotels, and this was by far the worst. We paid over $180 for one night. This is not a $180 per night room or stay!
There was mold/scum on the shower ceiling, rust stains on the floor around the toilet, the porcelain on the toilet tank lid was broken, the toilet seat needed to be replaced, the chairs in the room were covered in stains, the TV resolution was grainy/poor, the walls of the room were dirty and disgusting, and I would have to say that the worst part of it all… which we didn’t notice until we woke up the next morning… was the huge stain on the sheets that were on the bed our kids slept in!! They can’t even invest in new sheets or an upholstery cleaner?! That’s just the room. And what makes it even more frustrating is the fact that the hotel left a card in the room with the name of the individual who cleaned it, asking us to consider leaving a tip! Elevator buttons were broken. The pool is small and is supposed to be 3 feet to 8 feet however, the 3 foot area of the pool is only where the steps are to get in. But as soon as you step off the bottom step, the bottom of the pool immediately drops. There really is no 3 feet. That pool is a drowning hazard for kids. Their other pool is closed. The towels for the pool are big enough to wrap around a small child however, they are too small for older kids and adults. Their website photos show photos of a restaurant. However, their restaurant has been closed since last year. Disappointing.
