A LOT of drugs, homelessness and disgustingly filthy area. Use to LOVE this area, but now it's not such a safe area to be even in broad daylight.

Ocean beach is a clean, family friendly (for the most part) beach. Parking is next to non-existent, unless you get there very early or if you want to walk a mile to the beach. Very crowded. Cars line both sides of the streets every where. Some people (teenagers, young adults) will ride their electric scooters, bikes, and skateboards on the sidewalk without any consideration for pedestrians. Most people at the beach or on the pier were good natured and approachable. They were just people going to the beach. There were some homeless people sleeping here and there..
