"Conveniently located for the castle and the centre of town. Bar and restaurant area are excellent although having Reception at the bar seems a little quirky. Useful after having the other half drive you there though. Room was spacious and clean. Parking had to be paid to a third party but the hotel staff were very helpful getting it done. No A/C.
The lift only goes to the first floor so if you have mobility concerns, keep that in mind. We were on the second floor with heavy suitcases but the staff were more than happy to take them up and down the stairs for us."
"We enjoyed everything about the hotel. The only thing that we did not like is that it it's classified as an airport hotel but it is quite a distance from the Edinburgh airport. They offer a shuttle, but it fills up and was hard to book for our flight."
"The room was clean. The staff are very nice.
No air con in the room however there is a fan. My mother had a biscuit in her room I didn’t. The toilet roll is cheap. They don’t allow food to be eaten in the room so be prepared."
"The grounds are beautiful. I stayed in a river view room with a balcony: so peaceful and relaxing. The room was very nice, but if your priority is a good mattress and plump pillows, mine were not great. But not terrible either.
The staff are friendly and helpful overall. Scottish breakfast was good. Several large groups moved through in the 4 days I was there, so it became quite bustling."
"Great hotel. Decor is a little over the top but it’s a very nice place to stay. No defined onsite parking but there is a reasonable parking lot located just across the street. I would recommend this hotel. With any booking you make in the UK, always book the breakfast if you intend to eat breakfast. It will save you a ton if you prebook it."
"Excellent hotel for those like myself who are disabled. Comfy rooms, great pub adjacent, designed for assessibility in mind. Pleasant safe neighborhood."
