"It seems to us that the hotel exists largely to house people visiting patients at the UPMC Presbyterian hospitals a quarter mile up the street. It does a good job in that role, and the value is very high for the cost of staying at this hotel. That said, the hotel is definitely showing its age and the rooms, HVAC, and plumbing look and perform like they haven't been updated in decades. Everything is clean, nothing is torn or shabby per se, but obviously showing the wear and tear of age."

"The room was extremely clean but it was unfortunately dusty. When we arrived, no fault of the staff, there was a power outage. I was dissapointed that the hotel did not have proper emergency lighting and we had to be escorted in the dark, by flashlight, up 5 floors. "
