“Great host, Rose cares about her guests you can tell that right away. The room we stayed in was beautiful, the cleanest I think I’ve ever stayed in and it was fully stocked with soaps, coffee & even makeup wipes for my wife. Rose accommodated dietary restrictions for our breakfast no problem. The perfect place to stay for couples visiting Port Hope and looking for something a bit more special than a hotel. Summertime would be even better. ”

“Suite was homely and cozy, downtown Peterborough is fairly accessible by car, and convenience store right down the road. The property has a beautiful garden visible from the patio with lots of birds visiting for those into birdwatching. Host was knowledgeable about attractions in the area, recommending multiple places for us to visit.”

“It’s a clean and decent place. Good value for your $$. We stay there when we go to Cobourg. The cleaning lady is very nice.”

“Great spot to stay. We originally booked because we thought there was a restaurant onsite but it was still a beautifully maintained property. We saw some swans in the river close by and were able to take a 5 min uber to a great restaurant. The staff was very friendly with easy check in and check out process. Will be staying again!”

The house and property and gorgeous, the breakfast is big and delicious, and the programs that they run are great. I attended a Reiki circle that I found very helpful and relaxing. The shiatsu massage chairs are also excellent. I would return and I will recommend Rising Star!”

“What a cool spot, lots of things to do around the property or just relax by the pool and sauna. This would be a fun spot for couples, great vibe and easy to be romantic, assuming you like to be spoiled and outdoors at the same time.”

“The property is in desperate need of refurbishment. The carpets are extremely stained and dirty and things like the trim in the bathroom and the flooring in the bathroom around the edges is all falling apart. The bed was comfortable but there is no USB by the bed that were functioning which made it very inconvenient. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was just so-so.”

A male staff help me to register membership , I stays over 30 days Holiday inn in the pass few year in different country. No staff proactive help me register the membership. “Loved everything! Never done B&B and I think I was spoiled. Spacious room, Nice bed, pillows, lighting, t.v, jacuzzi tub, or shower and an eclectic mix of items and paintings/photos to look at. Also you will not get breakfast like that at a hotel. Served when YOU are ready to eat. My kind of place. Martin and Petra are kind and direct hosts. If they were all like this I would NEVER stay in a hotel again.”

“Location was very good near to highway 401 staff was very good but the room was not good after closed all the curtains to much light was coming in the room and bed was very old and not comfortable we couldn't sleep even 3 hours on that bed”
