Portrush is a pleasant town on the northern coast of Northern Ireland. The resort consists of a 1-mile (1.6-kilometer) peninsula jutting out into the sea. It attracts vacationers from Belfast with its dunes, sea cliffs and serene ambiance. Bring your family to explore the castle, beaches and waterpark.

Walk east to the stunning limestone cliffs of White Rocks Beach. Clamber over rocks and hide in caves with your family. Snap photos of Causeway Headland and the Skerries rocks.

Near the beach is Dunluce CastleOpens in a new window, a ruined medieval structure sitting atop a rocky hill. Cross the bridge to reach the 13th-century isolated vestige that belonged to many noble families over the centuries.

The complex also has a ten-pin bowling facility. Another family highlight is the Dunluce Centre, which has laser tag, a play adventure area and a four-dimensional motion simulator. Climb the complex’s viewing tower for panoramic views of Portrush.

Enjoy the stunning landscape of dunes, cliffs and hills with a round of golf at the Royal Portrush Golf Club.

The lush green fields of Portrush result from the region’s high levels of rain. Sunbathe on the beach in summer and ride horses along the coast in winter.
