The property is fairly convenient, a 4 block walk to Broadway and The Assembly and one minute walk to Printer’s Alley. Bartenders at the lounge were great. Our stay, however, wasn’t a wow, and there were a few issues: 1. At the time of checkout, the hotel attempted to charge us $30 per day plus tax for a total of $140 for a “resort fee.” When we asked what the fee was for, we were told for the use of internet and coffee. We didn’t use the internet or drink coffee and protested these sort of accommodations are a part of any hotel service for their guests. They took off the fee, given our protest, but the fee was a backdoor, nickel and dime attempt to squeeze more cash out of their guests on our $1400+ hotel stay for 4 days. 2. My husband’s $450 electric razor recharger cord went missing, which we reported to the front desk and were told we would receive a call. No follow up was attempted by the front desk and this raises some concern about room security. 3. After the $140 charge was attempted. I reflected back on a complaint by a guest in the elevator who was upset she was being nickeled and dined with some fee bc the car had broken down and was in for repairs and the hotel had to hold their luggage until the car was fixed. Clearly, the Dream Hyatt missed the course on guest relations. Given this experience, I wouldn’t stay at the property again and caution anyone staying in Nashville to be aware of the last minute, at check out, resort fee.
