"The Gin Hotel is a beautifully refurbished "Grand" Hotel in a small Virginia town. Located on Main Street in downtown Lexington, it is two blocks from Washington and Lee University and five blocks from the Virginia Military Institute. Lexington's Main Street has been reinventing itself each year over the fifty-five years since I graduated from W&L and it is now populated with unique shops, craft stores and restaurants. The hotel is quiet, clean and well maintained. Unlike when I was in Lexington in the late 1960s, the town is ringed with the usual collection of mid-level hotel chains. These are all fine hotels but ones like these can be found in virtually every town in the US. Staying in historic downtown Lexington (for the same price) is so much more fun!"

"My 14 year old daughter and I stayed for 3 nights while she competed at a show at the Virgina Horse Center. It was lovely to have a peaceful and relaxing place to come back to after our long and exhausting days at the VHC. Communication with Audrey was great from the start. The property and views are gorgeous, especially each morning as we left at dawn for the show. The beds are comfortable, plenty of hot water, well equiped kitchen, and the washer and dryer were a godsend. Can't recommend Windymile highly enough. "
