Online check in was a waste of time. I received a text to check-in online which I did including uploading my credit card info and DL, which was required, only to have to check in once again on arrival when they asked for my credit card and DL again.
Beautiful contemporary room and hotel. Clean, comfortable, and nice decor. Handy location for walking and shopping, with easy access to public transit.
We arrived in the very wee hours of morning, and hotel security promptly and warmly greeted us and escorted us in to the secure lobby. Would definitely stay here again.
The room met my expectations so if you are looking for just that, this is sufficient. I have stayed at the Line in DC before and it was much nicer so this was somewhat disappointing for the price. We tried to walk in the area around the hotel which we quickly realized wasn’t the best idea. In fact on our second night we couldn’t get to the hotel street in our rental car since the only way to get onto the one way street for valet was blocked by police due to a shooting. We tried to call the desk 6 times. They answered once and hung up on us because they couldn’t hear us. When we finally did arrive, they had a private event in the lobby with extremely loud music. The event doesn’t bother me, but the event impacting the desk’s ability to help guests does. There was no communication about the police situation or resolution to our situation that night. We even had to stay up and continue to check that valet came to pick up our rental car since the parking is off properly, and the area is not the safest to leave a car parked on the street. Ultimately the hotel is fine, but the service was mediocre and for the price we were really shocked by the location.
Love the staff at the line who were extremely wonderful and kind. This area where this hotel is located is NOT safe for a single woman traveling alone. There are a lot of homeless people around and a lot of drugs in this area. I wish I knew this before booking. I was able to early check out of my 4 night stay and only ended up staying 1 night because I felt so unsafe. The front doors also randomly lock and security stands inside instead of by the doors. Also you cannot pull up to this property and cars park across the street still giving 5 mins for you to be harassed by a homeless person. Would NEVER stay here again
