Manitou Lodge

8/10 Good

"The property was good and in a good location. The only issue was that the sheets and blankets were not clean."

Cozy Cabin On The Sol Duc River Sleeps Four. Fully Supplied Kitchen And Linen's.

10/10 Excellent

"The Hidden Duc cabin was a peaceful spot right next to the Sol Duc river. We had a great and cozy time during our exploration of Olympic national park and the coast. Nick was great at responding and guiding us. The cabin itself is very well maintained and provides a great spot to rest after a day if hiking and driving."

8/10 Good

"We absolutely loved the room! It was clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and located in a beautiful, quiet area just 5–10 minutes from town. Check-in was easy, and the owners were very accommodating with last-minute changes. However, a few concerns affected our stay:- Security: The room connects to the main house with only a sliding chain lock. As two women traveling alone, we felt uneasy knowing an unfamiliar man was staying on the other side. We even blocked the door with our luggage for added security. A deadbolt would provide much-needed peace of mind.- Noise: We were notified of minor pounding around 6 PM, but construction against our room continued from 7–9:30 PM. After a long day exploring, we would have appreciated this being done while we were away.- Wi-Fi: The password was written in all caps rather than its correct case, making it difficult to connect.- Electrical: All appliances, bathroom lights, and the heater share one breaker, which tripped early in the morning. With no contact number available, we had to enter the main house and wake the man staying there to reset it, which was uncomfortable.Suggestions: A guest information book with emergency contact numbers, instructions regarding the breaker, and other helpful property details would make guests feel more comfortable and secure.Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay! With just a few improvements, particularly regarding safety and communication, our experience would have been absolutely flawless."

Van Riper's Resort

8/10 Good

"Great location with amazing views from our upstairs room. Check in was easy and quick. However the shower head is quite low and having to bend my arthritic knees to wash my head was painful. During the off season restaurants are closed Monday thru Wednesday within 30 miles so bring in your own food stuffs to cook in the room."

10/10 Excellent

"This is a great place to stay if you want to be away from it all. It is about a 20 minute drive to town (Forks) so if traveling south to get there be sure to stop for gas and groceries before you arrive. There is a local bar about 10 minutes away that has pretty good burgers. After checking out the place my husband asked if we kicked someone out of their home because it is stocked to the T. Games, DVDs and all the supplies you could need in the case of power outage, which we did not have. The path on the property just off the house was awesome. Almost don't even need to go into the rainforest park because its all right there in the yard. There are several paths so it can be a very short walk or doing the whole set is probably just under a mile. There are cute little painted rocks along the path as well as signs so no way you could possibly get lost. We have never stayed at a place where the owner was also on the property so seemed a bit odd when she came out as we were closing the gate behind us on arrival. But it was great meeting the sweet little lady. And she did provide some info that was good to know. The only issue we had was with the twin bed closest to the door. It was comfortable but for some reason the head of the bed was slightly higher than the feet so I kept very slowly sliding downward. I would definitely recommend and would stay again if in the area."
