Me and my wife spent 6 days at this nice hotel to celebrate my birthday. I was not wrong when I chose to book this hotel because of the good Radisson reputation all over the world. Staff and breakfast are fabulous. The bathroom is in need of some upgrade, but the room is very comfortable. The free shuttle service to and from the Waterfront is really wonderful.

Overall standard was good value, loads of helpful staff, big breakfasts, bar actually priced Ok for hotel R44 For 2 bottles of beer. A few things made the overall experience not great. Rooms bit tatty, noisy early on in morning from other guests and staff shouting down radios and painting inside walls on a Sunday morning. The room keys also failed to work most days, even though kept away from mobile phones and other cards, do annoying walking back to reception again. Stayed in room 118 on first floor, perhaps is more peaceful on higher floors?

From our arrival, through to our departure, we had a positive experience. No complaints.
Our room on the 19th floor gave us wonderful views. The dual aspect room meant that we could see sunrise and sunset.
Our double room had recently been renovated, and was very acceptable. Some floors were still being renovated, and two of the four lifts were reserved for contractors. This was very well managed and we did not experience any inconvenience.

After a week spent on safari camping, my friend and I arrived at Blackheath and were promptly offered plush seats in the lounge, a complimentary drink, and a host of options as to which room we would like. Every morning, breakfast was freshly prepared with a variety of options. A tour of the cape and dinner reservations at The Pot Luck Club were all arranged beforehand so we had little to arrange upon arrival. Even laundry services were provided to scrub us free of the grime from constant travel and camping. An iPad is offered to every room. A South African mobile is made available as well. The owners have a pet cat and dog (the lovely Coco) who roam the grounds and make the place even more adorable. This place is beyond comfortable, inviting, and relaxing. It more than lived up to its positive, glowing reviews. I highly recommend Blackheath Lodge for anyone traveling to Cape Town.
