“The hotel is charming. The location is great. The building is funky, given it's age and need for repair. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The theater located in the same building is a one of a kind attraction. It was a plus for us that the hotel is owned and run by a nonprofit.”

Our hosts were very kind, and put generous effort into providing delicious breakfasts, giving suggestions about local attractions, and allowing us as much or as little cat time as we wanted. The room we were in was very cozy, with a comfortable bed, and thoughtful touches such as a water kettle for tea or coffee, a small fridge, and a TV setup we didn’t take advantage of. “I arrived after dark and the hotel and the village were like a magical New England winter scene with sparkling lights everywhere. The proximity of the hotel to a typical New England church and numerous white painted wooden framed structures was a scene from our historical heritage. The hotel was reopened less than a year ago after extensive renovations. The outcome is a GEM. Decorations deserve an A+.”

“This was a travel back in time experience. Only a few minutes from the mountain. The owner/operators were great! Super personable and really enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere. Rooms were no frills but more than adequate. There was a great continental breakfast each morning. The common area had a great wood burning stove and several folks hung out in the lodge area each night. The hidden gem was the homemade authentic Indian food offerings. Must try for sure! Thanks for a great lodging experience!”
