While the property itself is beautiful and is located in an awesome location, lots of upgrades and improvement are needed. The washrooms should be updated. There were no washcloths or hand towels provided. No shower caddy in the room for toiletries. The room card did not work and I was advised that the battery had died and therefore I was provided with a manual key. The housekeeping and front desk staff are AMAZING! The front desk staff are incredibly helpful, polite and kind. Housekeeping staff are not English speaking, so communication with them was challenging, however, once they understood the request, they did what was asked. I tried breakfast the first day and never went back. It was awful. For a Guyanese resort to not have Guyanese cooking staff is kind of insulting and oh so disappointing. Whatever the Spanish speaking kitchen staff prepared, was nowhere close to authentic Guyanese food. I'd love to stay at this spot again, however, I think lots has to be done to improve the overall experience.
