"Room was clean and spacious. Decided not to use the kettle in the room as it looked like someone had tried making coffee in it.
Good selection for breakfast.
Onsite restaurant also serves good meals.
Hotel is in a good location."

"We loved our stay at the Old Inn - rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Spa facilities etc were all beautiful and had a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Restaurant was really good - lovely food, great service and attentive staff. Young waiter and waitress (I think called Leo and Sofie) both really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great quality and freshly cooked, ordered from a menu rather than buffet. Any and all staff we encountered were friendly, chatty and helpful. Love the general atmosphere - chilled out, laidback, peaceful with rustic decor and good lighting etc. No complaints - would definitely recommend and stay again."
"Great hotel, clean and tidy. One thing we noticed was the room always had a nice inviting smell to it. Very helpful staff. Only problem the Belfast bap was missing one egg and black pudding on both our platea"
"Erica was a fabulous host. Very personable and charming. She made sure we had what we needed to be settled in after a long drive coming back from Scotland. There is also a really nice cafe, "Creed Coffee Carrickferus" in walking distance I recommend for your morning coffee and scone. It was great. Carrickfergus castle is also in walking distance and very worth the short walk from the cafe. Overall a really nice and pleasant stay for just one night."
The Studio Helen’s Bay Luxury Seaside Cottage - 5 minutes walk from beach
10/10 Excellent
"We had a lovely stay during this fall at “The Studio“ which was wonderful for two of us to spend a relaxing week away. Sara is a hostess extraordinaire! She provided us an excellent guide book of recommendations for getting around town & even had a semi-stocked kitchen waiting for us as we checked in a bit late. All the essentials to make us feel at home: Irish butter, milk from a local dairy, fresh pressed apple juice, homemade granola, jams, bacon, tea and coffee.Helen’s bay is a charming, quiet area between Belfast & Bangor. Probably more ideal if you have a car, however we made do on foot just fine. We’ll be returning soon for another happy time by the sea!"
White Cottage - Quaint & cosy railway cottage just a stone's throw from beach
10/10 Excellent
"This was by far the best property I have ever rented. Check-in very easy, and wifi was great. It was very, very clean (immaculate!). Beds and bedding comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with any cooking tool you could possibly need or desire, the decor was beautiful. Kitchen and baths and entire property beautifully updated. The garden and deck area were amazing for relaxing. With the train station beside the cottage you are positioned to visit literally anywhere near or far in Ireland. We did not rent a car this trip. Quick train ride away you have Titanic Quarter and all the culture, restaurants and history in Belfast. Plenty of restaurants including the Dirty Duck with its amazing views and many others in Holywood one train stop away or a quick walk along the sea front. If you like long walks with beautiful scenery this is the place to stay. The Culloden Estate and Spa (afternoon tea, champagne garden and restaurants) and the Ulster Folk Museum are also one train stop away. Once you take the quick train ride into Belfast you can then travel down to Dublin or across the North Coast to many towns, including Derry. It is a nice break from driving. For day trips we used private tour company, Giants Causeway Tours (great (!!) family run business) there are also many bus tours out of Belfast, if you prefer. Sea Front walk is minutes away and has incredible views. Amazing coffee truck on the sea front. You will not be disappointed renting this property!!"
Edwardian Beach Villa in Whitehead, Beach Front Period Edwardian Villa
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely beautiful property! From the amazing Edwardian home (tall tall ceilings, lovely windows looking out over the water, wainscoting, gracious doors, renovated kitchen and bathrooms) to the stunning location: all A plus! Did I mention the fresh baked loaf of bread, butter, jam, milk and eggs all waiting for us? So thoughtful! Only issue was we couldn’t figure out the combo/lock system as our phones hadn’t switched to the UK eSIM so we missed that info email. But! We pressed the doorbell (probably way too many times lol) and the owner spoke to us via the bell, walked down to show us in and around the house! Loved our stay, would def book again!"
Carrickfergus Castle is one of the best preserved castles in Northern Ireland and has withstood sieges and defended against invaders for more than 800 years. The imposing landmark dominates the shoreline in Lough Belfast, the inlet surrounding the city, making it impossible to ignore for anyone trying to attack Belfast.
The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum has two wings, as the name suggests – one showing the traditions and way of life of the people of Northern Ireland, while the other is a collection of cars, locomotives, trams, horse-drawn carriages, planes, bicycles and even pogo sticks. There are no prizes for guessing which is more popular with young children.
