The room was newly renovated and clean. The good review stops there. Upon check in, an employee began power washing right outside our door. we were tired, but there would be no nap for us. At night the courtyard was so bright, it may as well have been day time in the room. There were no black out shades provided to remedy this chronic issue. No sleep again. On the 2nd night of 3 planned nights, our toilet was clogged at 10pm after we had been out all day. I called the front desk number as the desk was no longer manned, and I do consider a functioning toilet an emergency. I was made to feel like I was being difficult for calling and wanting a functioning toilet. I remained polite, and should have received the same politeness in return. We were woken up the following morning at 8am to a toilet that still would not flush after making noises all night (no sleep again) and to voices outside our door discussing two other rooms that had non-functioning toilets. Our room was starting to stink. We were offered a new room, but I was fed up, and not feeling confident it would not be the same thing all over. We made other plans and checked out. I have tried contacting Hotel Sol on 2 occasions to discuss a refund on the 3rd night (as we booked three nights through Expedia), and would have stayed had it be pleasant, but still no one has bothered to contact me back. Poor customer service. I do not feel I am being a Karen for expecting a half quiet room with a functioning toilet.
