As budget hotels go, this is a pretty good one. Of course, you do not get the latest and greatest technology or amenities. Also some of the furniture is a bit dated. However, the hotel is clean and comfortable.

This property is about 20 minutes from Clearwater Beach. It’s easy to get to, there’s lots of dining/shopping nearby, but it’s out of the way, so you don’t have to deal with huge crowds at the property.

The hallways smell like smoke. The room itself was clean but the ac did not keep up in the room, we had set it at 61 and on the entire time and it was around 8- degrees in there at all times. The breakfast area was clean but very packed every morning. I do not think the pictures show what the facility actually looks like.

I thought that the grounds were well maintained and clean. The hotel itself was kept up pretty well though you could tell that it wasn't a newer building. When we checked into our room, we found that the balcony overlooked a storage area for old chairs, doors, windows, gutter pieces, etc. It also overlooked the parking lot on the side of the motel next door which I believed to be full of drug dealers and ladies of the evening from what I observed. I asked the lady at the front desk if we could switch rooms so that we could have a view of the pool and/or courtyard. She told me that they don't normally do that and that they would have to have housekeeping come in and disinfect the room because we already entered. I politely argued a bit and she said that she would speak to the manager. She left through a door and came back less that 30 seconds later and told me that they could do it but they only had a pet room left which faced the same parking lot and motel and she could switch us to that. Why would I do that? I know that she did that just for show and I knew that there were rooms available facing the pool and courtyard because I could see that the rooms were empty from standing inside the pool area. They just didn't want to oblige us. Other than that, the maintenance staff and the housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. They only come every three days to clean the room and when they did, it was always too early in the morning, before 8am.
