"We almost didn’t stay here after reading some of the reviews about the hotel being outdated, but we are SO glad we did! We honestly thought the hotel was cute and had everything we needed. The staff was incredibly friendly, the rooms were clean and cozy, and the pool was perfect for both us and the kids. The hot tub and sauna were a huge bonus! We also loved the little extras — there was always hot coffee available for the adults and hot chocolate for the kids, with syrups to add for a little something extra. ☕️🍫 Our room even had a view of the pool with a sliding glass door. The door didn’t open, which I’m sure is for safety reasons, but it was still really nice to be able to sit and watch the kids from the room. Overall, we really aren’t sure why the ratings were so low. Yes, it may not be the newest or most modern hotel, but we thought it had a lot of charm and was very comfortable. The location was great too — we were able to walk downtown for dinner and check out a couple of shops. We had a great stay and would absolutely stay here again!"

"First, we had a magical time. We stayed only one evening so we never found the pool & hit tub. We were busy walking around taking in the artwork and getting familiar with the casino. We were each given a complimentary drink card, 2 drinks each, so we started our evening at the Rapids Lounge. The bartender was just great! We could clearly see he likes what he is doing. We then went to the Cafe and had a Whitefish sandwich basket. It is an open air cafe, with a few tables to eat at. They had a nice menu, The Whitefish was very good. Then on to gambling. There are several different gambling rooms, We liked the atmosphere of the Heron Room. All the rooms we gambled in were either smoke free or they had really good air filters because I never smelled cigarette smoke which is awesome. Check in and check out was a breeze! The clerk was very nice and helpful. Our room was a King bedroom which was very clean and comfortable. It was next to the ice machine and across from the Housekeeping room. I would suggest getting a room farther away as it was noisy We will definitely return.."

"Just a really cool place. Parking was just fine for our vehicle. I would know that if you had a larger vehicle or a pull behind trailer parking would not be easy. Perfectly decorated; love the fire pit. saw a lovely sunset from the little landing in front of our room"

"The place was great beachside property on Lake superior couldn’t ask for more overall it was clean, except the bathroom. There were water streaks, or some kind of brown streaks on the wall below the light switch in the bathroom. I took one of the washcloths and wiped it off myself you can still see streaks on the wall from what I washed off. So whatever it was has been there a while. And parking is well… interesting to find a spot."

"It looked more impressive in the pictures than in real life--the pool area in particular looked amazing in the pictures but a bit shabby in person. However, the room had all of the amenities...comfortable beds, small fridge with tiny freezer, microwave, hot shower with great water pressure. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included boiled eggs, yogurt, waffle machine. Late morning towards the end of breakfast, it got crowded, and at least once, they ran out of waffle mix and boiled eggs. Location was good--about an hour straight to Munising, about half an hour in the other direction to Tahquamenon Falls, about an hour past there to Whitefish Point."
