OK for the price

Posted Sep 28, 2016
Pros: priced OK, fridge and coffee maker in room
Cons: needs some soundproofing and could be updates/refreshed
Location: downtown is a 45 minute walk, 20 minutes by bus - nothing is "right there" by the hotel
This hotel is about a 45 minute walk from downtown, or about 20 minutes by bus. There is a bus stop right in front which is really convenient. It is more of a MOTEL than a hotel. The rooms are small and dated but clean. The soundproofing is BAD. I was woken several times at night with loud coughing from another room, sounds of people talking etc. You need to walk outside to get to your room.

Thanks for staying with us. We apologize that you were disturbed by other guests in the hotel. There are a handful of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. In addition, Mayfair Shopping Centre is only a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. For those looking for more spacious rooms, our guest rooms with two queen beds are the ideal choice and some provide a view of the Gorge Waterway.

Pleasant stay

Posted Sep 26, 2016
We liked having a bit of a view over the Gorge and the shower was great. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable, we brought our own pillows. It's an older building but has been updated a bit so overall, we would definitely stay here again rather than the other place we stayed at in the area.

Although we are not located downtown, we are central to many other amenities in Victoria including shopping centres, hospitals, and schools. For those wishing to visit downtown, we are just two kilometres away. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon.

Location: Galloping Goose walking trail close by. Close to grocery store etc
Enjoyed our stay. We found the hotel to be quiet and close drive to downtown Victoria. Nice pool and gym facilities as well.

We are glad that you got to experience Victoria's Galloping Goose Trail. It is a beautiful waterfront pathway from the hotel to downtown Victoria. For those that don't wish to travel on foot, we also offer bicycle rentals. Thanks for staying with us and we look forward to your next visit.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. If you do not wish to use stairs, please advise the Front Desk and we will do our best to locate you in a room that does not require the use of stairs. Second floor is usually a popular option as it is the same level as the lobby and restaurant. The location of your room is not dependent on how far in advance you book, but rather what room type you reserve. If you wish to be on the view side of the building, it is necessary to reserve a room with two queen beds. The two double bed rooms face the parking lot side of the hotel.

Reasonable price/easy access to local attractions

Posted Sep 21, 2016
Pros: location, clean room.
Cons: could use an elevator.
Location: easy access to public market, old Chinatown, Craigdarroch Castle, Butchart Gardens, and so forth. Just off a main road that connects to Island Highway
The only thing we did not like was the lack of an elevator. Room was clean, we were in a quiet wing of the hotel, and we could easily find our way around Victoria from that location. Pleasant and helpful staff. Would recommend for anyone wanting Victoria stay without huge cost.

Thanks for staying at our hotel. Being just a block from Victoria's Galloping Goose Trail makes us ideally situated for those wishing to walk along the waterfront to downtown. Alternatively, guests can rent one of our on-site bicycles or even try out the Victoria Harbour Ferry!
