“When in Joburg, the Parkwood in Rosepark is a sanctuary of relaxation and luxury. John Paul makes you feel welcome and pampered and the suites are large, well appointed and more than comfortable for relaxing and sleeping when on property. So much better than much larger chain hotels throughout Joburg. Location and luxury make the Parkwood our top option. ”

“I love the WhatsApp communication from reception. I told them I’d arrive early at 10am and could I get a space to work for a few hours. They offered the boardroom but when I arrived my room was ready! At 10am! Well done. ”

“Great location and very vibey. But suffers from the usual lack of communication between staff as well as lack of visible genuine professional enthusiasm of staff who just seem to be going through the motions and who couldn’t care less about the guest experience. Breakfast is a joke and poorly executed with no quality checks. Nice menu but poor delivery. Also there is a chronic long edit for the lifts because the hotel had about 10 different side functions - speak easy, gym, offices, etc and……

“The room was large and had all the amenities, but we didn't use the kitchen as we only stayed 2 nights. The room was noisy - busy roads and single-pane windows? Around the property, things seemed to be in a state of reconstruction, so walking along the sidewalks, especially at night (poor lighting) was hazardous. We were charged for the room even though I had prepaid, although they did reverse the charge before we left. We found the front desk person we dealt with a bit hard to understand as he……

“One of the most beautifully decorated buildings I've ever visited. Everything is made with attention to detail, and the color combinations are so vibrant. Staff was friendly without invading our space. I also liked that they seemed to have interns training while we were there. One small complaint: the shampoo and shower wash in the bathroom are unreasonably high. A child that's old enough to shower alone may have trouble reaching.”

“Overall excellent, very good location, walking distance to shoppingmall, many restaurants nearby. Comfortable and safe place to stay. Very good breakfast. Only issue is during load shedding, no heating available. ”
