"Four of us rented an apartment in the cloister, which was very quiet and clean. It was conveniently located, not far from the train station and just across the river from York old town. It was great to have our own kitchen facilities. The furniture in the living room was colorful but uncomfortable, springs and stuffing were shot. And the dining table was in a corner only 4 small children could have squeezed into. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms warm and clean. We enjoyed our stay."

We had dinner in the dining room, serviced by fantastic staff. The food was amazing, both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Breakfast was buffet style, we would have like fried eggs as opposed to scrambled and neither of us liked the sausages, otherwise enjoyable. We did not use the bar so can’t comment. The hotel location is beautiful, the grounds well maintained. We would consider using the hotel again in the future"

"I love the location of this hotel, since it’s only about 1/3 of a mile from the train station, yet very quiet. Also convenient for a walk on the city walls. The entire facility seemed very clean, including, of course, our room. Staff that I met all behaved in a helpful, responsive, professional manner. The breakfast was a well-prepared full breakfast served buffet style. The only things that were “off” during my stay were in the fitness center, where the functional trainer was missing a handle and the small Swiss ball had a dirty/stained looking surface, but I must confess that I failed to mention either of these things to anyone."

Stuff was friendly and very helpful. We have not eaten in the restaurant, since there are a lot of options close to the hotel. Nice touch was the machine that would allow us to reserve the Uber or reserve the activities around the city."
