“The resort location from airport was close and beautifully landscaped property on the beach. The beach was nice and enjoyed sun longers with covers. Staff was readily available to serve. Food options were limited and only able eat during specific hours which was disappointing. The hot tub was snaller than a bath tub, water was cold and did not have pressure massage working. Main reason for booking resort was for use of hot tub and spa which was unable to contact to schedule session. Room……

“Doesn’t have a beach, but there are stairs to ocean on left and right side of sandy beach wall. Red flag was permanently up the week we were there…you can, at your own risk, cross over to beach next door when tide was low and make sure to return before tide came back in. ”

“Rooms were nice and staff was friendly. Property was fine. They are definitely on vacation time as meals are slow (2+ hours for a meal). The restaurants leave a bit to be desired. Poesia was not great at all - probably the worst meal in our party we had in the whole island and the worst Italian. The place is new but the chef is trying to be too creative with limited access to ingredients. A few people had a shrimp dish with tomatoes and no-one had tomatoes in it. Azure is okay - mediocre. “The room was clean and the staff was friendly. when I arrived there was nobody at the office. eventually someone came but the room was not ready and had to wait for them to clean the room. check in was at 3pm. I arrived at 4 pm and did not get the room until 6 pm”

“Property was newly renovated with very clean rooms. Cleaning staff were very nice and cleaned thoroughly, daily. Front of house team courteous and on point. Bar staff / wait staff definitely need to improve as wait times for anything are long. Most requests are also forgotten which led to frustration. ”

But the use of buffet-dinner arrangements at premium prices is disappointing and not good value for money. You don't pay these sorts of prices to have to serve yourself. Apart from the room renovation the hotek is not much improved from the Elegant days but is much more expensive. ”

“I was extremely disappointed with my stay here and am glad I stayed elsewhere on the island for the majority of my time in Barbados. The rooms here felt like jail cells, not one piece of art, no hot water and no mirror above the sink in the bathroom. There was also no fridge for leftovers but a stove? The beach area is too small for all the people that are staying there, there also wasn’t enough pool chairs so multiple people were left to sit in the dinner chairs rather than lay by the pool or……

“This is a tricky review to write as some things about Sweetfield Manor were very good but others were not. Firstly, the place advertises itself as a 5 star boutique hotel, boutique is correct, 5 star definitely not. The room itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with an excellent shower room. However, the first thing that we were told when being shown to the room was that there were two small bottles of water which were complimentary but any further water would have to be bought -……

“Staff were so friendly and helpful, sorting out car hire, and giving advice on places to visit and eat. They couldn’t do enough for us. The place was kept spotlessly clean. I loved the fact that we were able to borrow chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach. Although the hotel is just across the road from the beach not all rooms have a beach view. We had a lovely view of one of the swimming pools. Would definitely recommend Beach View”
