Riverside Hotel

Riverside Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The view is wonderful. There's a church overlooking the river that looks beautiful at night, visible from the north rooms. The rooms were fantastic and the staff were very helpful, courteous, and very very polite. I felt incredibly welcome there. The bar atmosphere was cozy, though quiet, and the breakfast was decent. My only complaint there is breakfast is a bit stingy for the price. The parking is extremely limited, and the chances of getting a spot onsite are nil, so prepare to pay 3 Euro a day to park somewhere within a few blocks. You can drop off bags without parking, though, so no need to haul suitcases several blocks."

"This is a great spot when visiting Sligo. Right in the center of town, easy walk to all of town and over to Dooly Park for the Rose of Innisfree. Gym facilities were quite nice and modern. Room was spacious and comfy. Note the property does not have AC but they did provide us a fan. If you are concerned about super hot stays in mid summer just note that. The Snuggly Sheep Shepherd Hut & Sauna Farm Stay

The Snuggly Sheep Shepherd Hut & Sauna Farm Stay

10/10 Excellent
"This was a fun place to stay! Elspeth greeted us warmly when we arrived, check-in was easy, and communication was excellent. The property is gorgeous, with amazing views. The Snuggly Sheep hut was comfortable, with fun sheep-themed decor, and very well equipped for self-catering. The fact that it's on a working farm really adds to the experience - there are sheep and cows, as well as llamas, and a donkey, a pony, and a miniature horse to interact with. The hosts have several activities guests can participate in with the llamas, cows, and ponies, as well as a farm tour. You can walk through the pastures down to the Erne Estuary for birdwatching or just enjoying the countryside. There is also a wood-fired sauna with a sunset view (which we didn't use as it was already quite warm). I really hope to return here again someday! I just loved it."
