"Overall, the experience was good. I stayed for 4 nights, paying around $638 USD per night. Upon arrival, the front desk staff informed me that I had to pay a daily fee of $25 USD plus taxes—even though my Expedia confirmation indicated that all taxes and fees had already been charged. When booking, I paid for an upgrade to a room with a view of Lake Michigan; however, the room we were assigned was on the 21st floor and positioned on the side of the building—only a tiny sliver of the lake was visible in the corner of one window, while the other two windows looked inward toward the building itself. I felt a bit cheated by this room assignment, though the hotel was fully booked, so changing rooms wasn't an option. Aside from those two surprises, the stay was relatively good—especially considering the purpose of my trip was to run the Chicago Marathon, and the finish line was just a few meters away."
