"Great location for us as we wanted to explore that area. Cottage is set out lovely, you can relax on a cosy sofa looking out over the hills from large patio doors. Bedroom cosy with a comfortable bed. Would be a positive improvement if you got some new bedding. Kitchen well equipped but please, please clean the oven and the overhead fan. Bathroom with a large shower with lovely hot water, but please, please mend the broken tiles and re grout the base of the shower. Great tv but needs...

Every year we spend our anniversary night in an historically rich location and Whitehall, with its history and its mention in several local legends was perfect. The Cottage has the benefit of off road parking and because there are really good amenities in Braithwaite together with the fabulous walks from the door ranging from a Wainwright to a gentle stroll around the village we didn't use the car. We particularly enjoyed the walk up Barrow and Outerside with our dog Toby. I'm sure we will be staying again."
