“Lovely hotel with excellent pub attached, particularly good for a drink but also served good food. Breakfast was also very good, and packed lunches are can be bought for anyone on a hiking trip if you arrange this the evening before”

“Excellent location and setting. Staff excellent. Steam room out of service in the spa. Room could have done with some tlc - eg crumbly walls around where curtain hooks and the tv cable have been put in. TV in the room didn’t work. No decaf tea bags so got charged £9.35 for two decafs in the sitting room.”

“Sheelah & Peter are extremely pleasant and helpful. The spacious house are lovely and extremely quiet. The breakfasts are excellent in the large beautiful dining room. The surrounding countryside is spectacular (drive north on nearby Devil’s Causeway and look west to the Cheviots in the late evening, but be careful of the hares on the road.) The rooms are spotless, the beds very comfortable, the showers bliss, the rates excellent. We hope to return. The hosts’ recommendations for evening meals……

“The property was close to Bamburgh Castle and Farne Islands that is great in summer for Puffins. We were given the smallest double bed room even though we booked a proper queen room that were available.”

“Delightful old building, attractively furnished rooms, super service, excellent breakfast. The only niggle is no lift, so heavy suitcases may be a struggle on the stairs”

“Our room the Sebastia was dog friendly and the best we’ve ever had it was beautiful with a Juliet balcony and lovely views would highly recommend. The staff were lovely and the dogs had their own menus and not too far to walk the dogs on the beach before breakfast. Had evening meal first night at 8 pm the restaurant was full and so they were out of a few options but had the fish sharer for two and it was delicious. The first dog friendly hotel where you can take your dogs anywhere in the……

“Lovely stay, room immaculate, staff friendly and attentive on arrival (thank you Susan!) Bar/pub welcoming, nice friendly atmosphere. Could not fault food, was tasty, fresh and good portion sizes. Breakfast was served in lovely communal area where we could help ourselves to drinks. Overall great overnight stay. Thank you ☺️ ”
