"I stayed over on a Tuesday evening, I arrived at 5.00pm to find the hotel all locked up, after waiting for what seemed an age, I found the gardener, she was very helpful, and called someone, she then got the keys and let me into my room, the room was very nice, however the restaurant isn't open, and no bar. I was looking forward to a nice meal at the Michelin star restaurant. I had to go to the pub next door, but they stop serving food early, so I had to beg for them to open the kitchen again...

The accommodation is in its own block with keycard access and the pub/restaurant is a separate building a few steps across the car park. You check in at the pub. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were good, as was the service. A great place to stop to break up a long journey."

"The decor throughout the hotel is somethIng to behold. Gorgeous original entrance to the lift, quirky decorations everywhere. It really added to the experience of a nights stay in a hotel. The rooms were very different from the norm and very clean. The staff were very upbeat and welcoming. We had a few long chats in the bar with the night shift manager. He was so good giving us a lot of historical info about the hotel and also the surrounding area. All in all, it’s a place we will defo be back to when next in the area."

"The hotel was easy to find and we parked up early and walked into town which was very close by until our rooms were ready. The room itself was spacious with seating area and lovely views of the gardens - we were on the first floor of the separate block. The room was clean with complimentary tea & coffee, etc., and there was a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board. The bed was kingsize and very comfortable, the shower was hot and powerful and really there was nothing to complain about other than the window was difficult to keep open, but there was a fan available. We had a meal in the Orangery which was delicious, the breakfast was lovely too and we had drinks in the bar all of which was very reasonable priced, bearing in mind usual hotel prices. Every single member of staff was efficient and personable and the hotel should be proud of them. All in all we had the perfect stay and would highly recommend the hotel, its amenities and staff."
