They have tried really hard with nice touches like robes, slippers etc. However ... the place is so noisy. The plumbing makes continuous noise, specifically during dinner and breakfast services, specifically in the room 10/14 area. Also, wooden floors with period furniture when mixed with the sheer ignorance and inconsideration of other guests makes for a very noisy experience. If you have good ear plugs, or aren't affected by the noise of people bashing around then Rokeby Manor could be good for you. I would recommend getting the plumbing insulated and carpets fitted in the rooms and communal areas. The bed room was delightful with every facility you could wish for. Extensive choice for breakfast and we very much enjoyed our Indian meal in the evening. Rooms were well done and spacious. I would say in terms of service the restaurant wasn't as accommodating, when I tried to book for dinner I was getting 'push back' of 'come now as we will be busy later' and we ended up eating somewhere else. The staff was excellent and friendly. The food was great, and we had dinner here both nights we stayed here. Really charming rooms and the bed was very comfortable. A great boutique hotel. It was the best out of the three hotels we stayed at in Scotland and by far the cheapest one. However, this was the one we loved the most and would love to visit again.
