“The location is good 5 minutes walk from the city center and 10 minutes from the beach. The hotel is very quiet, looking good but not maintained has it should be. Staff are not present, rarely there is receptionist and you have to call them if you need anything. We didn’t have any towels when we arrived and my bed sheets were dirty. No safe in the room and dishes were in bad shape.”

“The suite was very nice and clean, however we found it to be poorly stocked. It had all the essentials, but only 2 thin pillows, and minimal kitchen items, we often had to borrow things from neighbors (wine bottle opener). The only other issue we had was running out of hot water very shortly after starting the shower. Proximity to the beach is wonderful, and the balconies were very nice. We also found that the grounds could have been kept a bit nicer, (debris, weeds etc), but things were still……

“Casa Mar was absolutely beautiful. My wife and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary with a week away and we would definitely do it again. An added perk we didn’t even realize until arriving was that this house is associated with the Awa hotel brand and you get all the perks of the hotel that is within a 5 minute walk. We loved everything about the experience. Manuel and Maria took great care of us as well!”

Downsides: badly damaged kitchen tiles, king bed had queen-size sheet and only two pillows, initially short on towels, two beach towels smelled, and the location is far from the city/not walkable—we spent over $120 USD on taxis. Good service, but unit needs better maintenance and clearer location expectations. ”
