Great cottage on the lake!
The cottage was just a pictured. Very inviting and nicely maintained. The boathouse was nice to have to get out of the wind. Nice dock to fish off of.

PERFECT location, and extremely clean rental. Wished we stayed when the weather was warm so we could take advantage of the boathouse and lake amenities -- no detail was spared! If we are ever in the area again, we would stay again without hesitation!

A slight disappointment.
While we enjoyed our stay in the area, there were some misses regarding our stay. I think it would have been nice to know that at this time of the year that Findley Lake is drained/lowered for various reasons. The shoreline was quite exposed which was hardly what we were expecting. Secondly, I had dropped something on the floor and went to look for it and quite honestly it seems like the place had not been dusted in some time. Next, I would say that the bed is quite high off the ground which for us was rather uncomfortable. Finally, as one flushes the toilet, the water pump makes quite the unique sounds (pumping). We have a well ourselves, so this is not a knock against wells, but just rather loud. While these items may seem overly critical, we did pay a relative decent price for our stay which turned out to be just ok (meaning the house/cabin).

Relaxing Cottage Experience
Wonderful and relaxing experience with amazing views! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed during our stay. Leigh was extremely responsive to our questions. We really enjoyed the fall getaway and even with rainy weather we were able to enjoy the lake views from the fireplace heated living room. We look forward to coming back to experience the boat house and kayaks in the future.

Returning home
I grew up in Findley Lake and totally enjoyed my stay. I had lots of company and everyone was very impressed with the property. I had trouble getting up the steps to the patio (Hence the chair I dragged over) and I couldn’t get down to the boathouse with a railing there. But overall, I loved it. What a beautiful view!

Second Visit, You Won't Be Disappointed!
This was our second visit for a nice anniversary weekend. I just can't say enough good things about both the cottage and the attention to detail provided by the owners. The location is simply beautiful. It's a place to relax at and enjoy the patio and it's views of Findley Lake. If it rains, the boathouse is set up perfectly so you can still be outside, covered, and enjoy the spectacular views of the lake. Everything is very, very clean, and even the pillows re nicer than they would have to be. This year there was the addition of really nice fire cauldron, so make sure you have a plan to get some wood and enjoy a fire or two. There is also a nice fireplace inside, but the weather cooperated perfectly on both our visits, so we were outside on the comfortable chairs. If you enjoy a quiet, peaceful setting with attention to detail, you won't be disappointed!

Our wedding weekend
The property is an amazing location. We stayed there the weekend of our wedding. It was just perfect. Leigh and Matt are incredibe hosts and even nicer people. They made our weekend there so special. The cabin is adorable and perfect for a small family or a romantic getaway. We will 100%stay there again. I can't say enough how great the space and the hosts are!

Wonderful stay
Our host, Leigh, kindly reached out to let us know we could check in early. This was so appreciated because rain was coming that day and the next. It’s a lovely cottage. The boathouse is just that something extra that makes this rental a special find. It was a great place to hang out and read while it rained or watch people on boats. Loved being able to kayak to the island and back, and loved that it was dog-friendly.

What a lovely lakeside cottage!
We loved our weekend at this lakeside cottage! The interior was nicely updated— with a gorgeous shower!— and there was plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating to while away the relaxing weekend. We loved playing board and card games inside by the window with the fireworks going off over the lake! And daytime highlights included fishing off of the dock, kayaking and canoeing in the gorgeous lake, watching ducks and geese from the patio, and chilling in boathouse watching the lake-cleaning barge. Oh, and the ice cream shop across the street was yummy, too! We didn’t end up using the fire pit (or “cowboy cauldron”), but we hope to return in the fall to see the colors of the lake and use it then!

Hobbit Cove!

Lake house Gem
The lake house is an ideal location for a relaxing, peaceful, waterfront getaway. Everything is as pictured. My husband and I had a fabulous time enjoying the water, walking to town, shopping and sitting on the patio for sunrise and sunset. Leigh was incredibly accommodating, friendly, thoughtful and a fantastic host. We will be back!
