“Good value”

“The hotel and room were very nice, especially for the price point. There was a dampness that was a bit distracting. And the pool smell was quite stroing in the public areas. The breakfast would have been better f there was toast as well as bagels. The pool was supposed to be heated but I think it may have been off. The night audtior went above and beyond to get my son a glass of milk to go with his cookies he bought.”

“We stayed overnight in a themed room. I brought energy drinks with me because I like to drink them in the morning when I'm on vacation. We were staying for a night. The refrigerator in our room was not working. I told the man tending the front desk. He responded in a passive aggressive manner that he would have maintenance attend to it right away in the morning, knowing good and well that we would be gone in the morning. Before I went to the front desk, I attempted to use the ice machine. I……

“When I checked in the young man said all of my information out loud.. I tried to educate him as to why you wouldn’t do that with a solo traveler. Then he continued to do it again right after. When I got into my room, it was dirty, but I always bring Lysol wipes and soap so I cleaned the tub the sink wiped down all the surfaces, etc.. The one lady tried to be helpful and was very nice and the pool was really nice but other than that I’m still waiting for my $50 hold that I was told I would get……

“This hotel was ok. Our queen suite was very roomy. Travelling with 2 adults, 2 teens. Hotel could have used a bit of updating…..room doors need painting, our tub floor was discoloured. But most was clean. Pool is small, not very deep, hot tub was out of order. As many of hotels now have a complimentary free breakfast, this one didn’t. We noticed no one in the restaurant. They had complimentary coffee, but not very much.”

“On the plus side, the hotel is clean, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is pretty decent, and the historic building has charm for sure. However, even though this hotel is historic and affordable, so we didn’t expect the world, there were a few in-room hotel basics that could have made our stay a lot better. First, the bed was beyond worn out. Not a traditional inner-spring or foam mattress on a box spring, more like a soft pad on top of straps, it felt like there was a cavern in the……

“The overall stay is fine. However travelers need to be aware that there is a parking fee now for "parking lot maintenance charge"( hidden fee) of $6.26 per day they don't tell you about when you check in. They never use to charge for parking and have recently begun doing this. Expedia says free parking. Its not.”
