Very charming building, close to the capital. It is older and the rooms are on the smaller side, which makes it quaint. Walking distance to nearby restaurants and bars. The staff was responsive and friendly.
It is a very cute "throw back" inn. Its walking distance to the capital and all of that. There is breakfast place next door and 2 bars, neither of them did I hear a peep from at all while staying there. Service is very good! Very good value as well!
What a charming and well-located alternative to chain lodging. Will totally stay here again on our next overnight to Madison.
Property was well maintained, check-in was awesome.
Everyone was. Exceptional. Our room was beautiful. Our check in person was excellent throughout. The building and plants/flowers were very well maintained. Nice to have breakfast included but my 1 and only complaint was that the eggs were cold. All else was spot on!
Everything was great! The property is well maintained, very clean with parking on site. I have Celiac disease so was delighted when the nearby restaurant Come Back In could accommodate my gluten free needs for the complimentary breakfast. Delicious and no reactions. We plan to stay here again.
My boyfriend & I went for a night to see a comedian nearby & we LOVED the ruby marie! The staff were super helpful & the rooms were adorable! A perfect night away, we’ll be back! :)
The building itself is so unique and decor so in keeping with its “time”. Breakfast was great and venue was so cute. We sat at the window and took in all of the activity.
Boutique hotel conveniently located down the street from the convention center and the Capitol complex. Clean, nicely appointed room, friendly staff. Would stay there again.
What else can you say about the cutest hotel in Madison!? As the desk clerk said, "It's a 19th century hotel." The staff is excellent, it's a perfect walking distance to anywhere you want to walk to...parking is easy and convenient...they provide breakfast every day, and during weekends it is at the restaurant next door!
I've stayed here a few times, and will most assuredly be staying here again.
Beautifully restored old building, comfortable spacious rooms. Friendly staff. We booked one night then stayed for three. Great location a short walk to lots of restaurants. Complimentary on-site parking. We would not hesitate to return.
Our room, #16, is triangular. Unusual, but nicely furnished and cozy. We didn't hear any music from Essen Haus, but the hotel supplied earplugs, just in case. The breakfast at Come Back In was wonderful! Delicious eggs benedict and fried potatoes.
