"The room was ghastly! I arrived after 2 am and left by 7 am. I couldn't even shower there it was so filthy!!!!"

"Absolutely a GREAT location for being right in the middle of ALL of the action in downtown Santa Fe. The entire property has such fun history and the rooms are so uniquely decorated and very confortable. Having said that, good luck with your rotation of staff. I am always kind to Front Desk Clerks because they have a rough job. This young man gave me no welcome, but just asked for my name and sniffed at the fact that it was a “third-party reservation“. I find that reaction. Interesting, because without the search engine, advertising, and availability of choices on Expedia, I would never have found myself at La Fonda on the plaza. My stay was definitely worth the price, but the pool and hot tub closed at 4pm over Memorial Day weekend, and though it’s not a big deal, the shampoo container was empty in the shower…. Which is only difficult when one is in the shower! I also called for room service to order up breakfast for the next day, but they didn’t pick up the phone then OR the next morning…disappointing, but I enjoyed a bakery next door! Parking is on the street (all but impossible with the crowds of people walking the streets of fun shops and restaurants. The hotel offers $30/night valet parking…which is really your only choice! Loved the hotel…. Cringe at the service."

"Room was less than satisfactory for cleanness. We had ants in our room and discovered a dead cockroach the next day which front desk blamed on ants. Staff were friendly and accommodated us by changing our room. Breakfast was included and was better than average. We discovered a $30 charge at the check out that was not clearly listed on Travelocity (shame of Travelocity for not stating that clearly). The best thing about this place is its location. It's a 15-minute walk to the historic Plaza."

"Our family had a wonderful stay at The Mystic Santa Fe and would happily stay again. We had a small issue with our original room at check-in, but management handled it immediately and upgraded us to a better accommodation with zero hassle. That kind of responsiveness really stood out. The property feels like a stylish, upscale Airbnb with all the conveniences of a hotel—without the generic chain-hotel vibe. Our room was beautifully decorated, thoughtfully designed, full of natural and indoor light, and the bathroom was huge. Everything felt clean, polished, and very well maintained. Breakfast was a lovely surprise. Along with eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes, there was an amazing fresh fruit spread with watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Fresh juice made to order was a great touch. The location is excellent—closer to the Plaza than most chain hotels, but much more reasonably priced than many stays right in the center. Great restaurants, cafés, Whole Foods, and even a cheaper gas station are all nearby. We also appreciated that it’s a gated property, which made it feel especially safe for our family. Every staff member was warm, courteous, and incredibly helpful, including the bartender and server at Mystic Café. Special thanks as well to housekeeping for keeping everything spotless. Overall, The Mystic Santa Fe has all the amenities of a hotel, but with far more charm, personality, and comfort."
