“The mattress and pillows were my favorite part—soft, comfortable, and so cozy that I actually slept better than I do in my own bed. They also offer coffee 24/7, and there’s a convenience store and restaurant literally right across the street. There’s no swimming pool or fitness center, but it served my purpose perfectly as a quiet writing retreat.”

“Shower drained poorly. Standing in 3 inches of water making tub slippery for older people. Staff never asked how our stay was at check out. Air conditioning in room was good but outside hallways and lobby were very warm when the outside temp was 90 degrees. Pool was nice and clean. wished hot tub was working. Nice that they provided towels at the pool.”

“The location, views and restaurant really blew us away. There were a few challenges with the room. We were there for 4 nights, so we had a bit of gear with us for hiking, etc, and the room was really small. The bathroom was difficult to maneuver in, because there is no where to put anything. All on all, the pluses outweighed the minuses, but it’s difficult, from the Expedia listing, to tell exactly what room you are booking, and with what amenities. I recommend going on the Cascade Lodge website……

“Nothing special but a nice clean and quiet stay. Breakfast didn't have waffles or a lot of fruit, but had toast, cereal, muffins, yogurt, coffee, juice, oatmeal”

“All the staff were friendly, courteous & knowledgeable. The room was very nice with plentiful parking. We didn’t use all the amenities but they had a few that most others don’t. Definitely enjoyed our stay & will return next time we’re on the North Shore”

“Wow, what a gem in Downtown Duluth! I'm sad we couldn't stay longer. Brand new property, very clean and well-appointed with all the comforts of home. Staff were very helpful at check-in and gave detailed instructions on accessing the room, parking etc. Room was beautiful, large and squeaky clean. Bed/pillows were very comfortable and linens absolutely spotless. Great location with easy access to dining, shops and bars. The only things that could have made it better were blackout curtains in the……

“A real nice jacuzzi but it took help to get hot water. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Overall a very nice stay. A lot of hiking trails almost out the back door. I would recommend this place”
