I'm a regular at Pod 39 when I come to NYC by myself. It's very minimalist and if I was planning to spend more time in my room, I'd go elsewhere, but exactly what I need when I'm in the city to see shows and check out some exhibitions. Always clean and my room is always ready when I arrive (which has not been my experience at other NYC hotels).

I usually find myself not entirely comfortable in hotels. This was far from true at Citizen M Bowery! The attention to details in the rooms was inspired and thoughtful. This is a well maintained property in a safe walkable part of Midtown East. I would def stay here again (I'm tri-state and travel to the city often). One note for non-tech folks, there are no room keys, it's all done on your phone through an app. I've stay at hotels where this was an option, but for this hotel it is the only option. We were impressed with how nice the hotel was for the money. The staff was very polite and welcoming. For NYC, the rooms were decent size. Nice new tv with smart functions so you can either watch directv or sign into your preferred streaming service. We had city view rooms with a nice park view. The hotel is a bit of a walk to the closest metro stop but this is a minor quibble. The excellent Uncle Lou is across the street and a must visit for Chinese food fans. Would stay here again.
