The young lady at the front desk gave us another room across the hall which had the same smell. She said “no one was available to fix the TV she was there alone”. The room, bathroom & linens were clean and for breakfast there was a very good selection. Staff was friendly and tried to accommodate but was beyond their control. The Property owner needs to maintain this property better. Seems to me there was a roof issue that was not properly resolved. There was peeling, bubbled wallpaper, what looks to be wipe marks on the wallpaper and wet spots. The ceiling was freshly painted which was just a cover up. We were in town for a funeral and spent most of our time with family -not in the hotel. There is only 1 other hotel in the area. I asked for a refund and was told she was not authorized to do that, so we were really just stuck with this hotel. We won’t stay there again." There was fecal matter on the toilet. And live and dead roaches on the floor, shower and refrigerator. I went immediately to office to complain and ask for another room. Per A Richard Patel ( female ) she told me they were booked and she can come and clean the room later. I told her if that is your way of cleaning no thanks, so she gave me a bunch of cleaning products and I cleaned myself. Slept with lights on because of the roaches and left the next morning. Got in touch with Expedia and complained. But I was not granted a refund.
